New Debit Cards Coming Soon

Debit Card Reissue
We are changing our Debit Card program to benefit you with real time transactions. What does this mean? This means that when you use your debit card at a merchant, your transaction will be approved based upon your current checking account balance. In the past, your transactions were authorized against balance files sent to the processor 5 times daily. This meant that you weren’t always given credit with your most recent balance.
Debit card holders will be receiving new Financial Plus debit cards in September and will continue to have access to thousands of surcharge-free ATMs nationwide on Shazam’s Privileged Status network.
Below is some key information that will help make this transition a little less painful.
- Your new debit card will be available for use as soon as you receive it.
- You will be able to activate your debit card by one of two ways:
- You may activate your card by performing a PIN based transaction with your existing PIN (i.e. make cash withdrawal at an ATM and enter your PIN).
- Or you may call the toll free number on the card and follow the prompts.
Frequently Asked Questions
When and how do I activate my card(s)?
Your new ATM/Debit Card will be available for use when received in the mail. Please activate your new debit card by one of two ways:
- You may activate your card by performing a PIN based transaction with your existing PIN (i.e. make cash withdrawal at an ATM and enter your PIN).
- Or, you may call the toll free number on the card and follow the prompts.
If I use my current Financial Plus Debit Card for automatic payments (such as a gym membership, insurance, etc.), will this automatically change with the new card?
No. If you use your debit card for an automatic payment, you will have to contact the company to update the card number and expiration date they have on file.
When will my current Debit Card be deactivated?
Your current Financial Plus Debit Card(s) will be deactivated 30 days after you have received your new activated card.
Why is my expiration date different than my husband’s?
When the mass reissue was done, it automatically assigned new card numbers to each cardholder along with a new expiration date. The expiration dates were staggered so we did not have everyone’s card expire at the same time. This will not prevent them from using the card. One card will simply expire at a different time than the other.
When will I receive my new PIN?
Your new PIN should arrive approximately 2 days after the card. If you have any PIN issues, please call or visit a branch for assistance or to change your PIN number.
Will my personalized PIN transfer to my new card?
We have made every effort to retain personalized PINs which should be transferred from your old card to your new one. If you test your card and your existing personalized PIN does NOT work, please use the PIN that will be mailed to you. If you would like to change the PIN, call or visit a branch.
Can I change my PIN?
You will have the option to change your PIN during the activation process. Please note that this option will require that various security questions be answered accurately with the information that we have on file.
If I have previously registered with Verified by Visa do I need to re-register?
Yes, your registration will not be carried over. We strongly encourage all debit card holders to register with Verified by Visa to help prevent fraudulent online purchases.
